Expect a crossover of jazz, house and broken beat from ‘one of the most tipped new production voices in South London’, Last Nubian performing with a live band.

Over the past few years Last Nubian (real name Tre Wright) has been quietly making a name for himself with unique explorations into the worlds of house, broken beat and recently, live performances. Wright grew up with classic UK club music soundtracking everyday life, absorbing everything from grime, garage, funky house to reggae through family and friends.

Since then, Last Nubian has released a handful of crucial EPs on independent labels like Tiffs Joints, Woop Records and Flat White Records, for whom his Ghetto Child EP received support from the likes of Pete Tong on Radio One, Mixmag and many more. The beginning of 2023 saw Last Nubian's first independent release of EP "We Got There First", that bridges the gap between broken beat, house and jazz, followed by his most recent release with South London’s own Touching Bass. Recent tunes have gained the attention of musicians and DJs across England including Gilles Peterson.

With a grip of exciting new releases on the horizon already locked and loaded and recent live performances at 91 Living Room & Gilles Peterson's renowned We Out Here festival, Last Nubian is set to be a name known by more and more for his enigmatic productions and live shows in the very near future.

DJs Beringei + Saige Sounds will be mixing selections of house, UK funky, soul & broken beat before and after the live set.

‘Jamaican dub reggae, London broken beat, Detroit house, and Brazilian jazz-funk all flow together into a hot dancefloor stew that radiates images of people clapping, hollering, facing one another—not the DJ—and properly dancing.’ - Bandcamp Daily: The Best Electronic Music of November, 2023

‘One of the most tipped new production voices in South London.’ - CLASH

‘Moving gracefully from smoky dub into an inviting hearth of house and bruk, all basking in a jazzy glow.’ - DJ Mag
